Lenore Scatuorchio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perinchief Chapels - Mount Holly on Jan. 29, 2026.
Lenore A. Scatuorchio went home to be with the Lord (and her late son, Stephen F. Sanford) on Jan. 25, 2026.

She was born on November 23, 1953, in Jersey City, NJ to the late John M. and Dorothy K. Scatuorchio, nee Kesby. The family moved to South Jersey in 1960; she settled in a house in Willingboro, where she especially enjoyed the backyard pool and her love of cats.

She is survived by sisters Darcy Law (NC) and her stepson Greg Law (PA); and Jo Biddle (FL); nephew John Biddle and niece Lee Ann Biddle. Also, very special to Lenore was Samantha Murray, who considered her an adopted grandmother.

Lenore described herself as "active, clever, and inquisitive"; at one time she had as many as 20 pen pals! She participated in scouting and church ministry. For years, she was responsible for ordering pamphlets and books for the church foyer. But she was proudest of her 45-year career as a nurse, having graduated from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She worked as a school nurse, in public health and in hospitals in Philadelphia and Burlington County, ending at Deborah Heart and Lung Center where she was a dedicated Medical ICU nurse.

She kept busy in her retirement, indulging in crafts such as sewing, making jewelry, crocheting and quilting. She even knew how to refinish furniture! In addition, she loved Sudoku and other puzzles. Lenore was an extrovert and made many friends, especially at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Holly, NJ. Lenore was frequently seen chatting with church members before and after Mass. She was also part of an online Bible study.

She spent her last days at the Wynwood Rehab and Healthcare Center and expressed her sincere gratitude for the wonderful care of the Doctors, Nurses and Staff.

Heaven has indeed gained another angel!

Her Celebration of Life will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 260 High Street, Mt. Holly, NJ 08060 on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her Visitation from 11-11:30am, followed by Funeral Liturgy at 11:30am at Sacred Heart Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to: Deborah Heart and Lung Center
