Lenore Bishop Scheuerman

SCHEUERMAN, Lenore Bishop, born November 18, 1922 in Kress, Va., Lenore "Lee" passed away peacefully March 5, 2008 at her winter home in Sarasota in the presence of her loving family. The daughter of Hardy and Julia Bishop, she lived much of her early life in the South Hill area, where her family farmed and ran a service station just north of town during the depression. After World War II, she married her serviceman sweetheart and moved to Chicago where they raised three children. A Southern lady, young beauty queen, and homemaker, she was a gracious woman who had a rich interior life from reading and who would rather be silent than say an unkind word. She is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. Joseph F. Scheuerman, U.S. Army Reserves, (Retired); her son John; daughters Mary and Ruth; Ruth's son, Matthew; and Grayson Bishop, grandson of her beloved brother Wallace. A funeral mass will be recited Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home with interment in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
