Michael Joseph Scheuerman

Michael Joseph Scheuerman, 73, of Quakertown, passed away on August 17, 2025. He was born in Trenton, NJ, on May 7, 1952, to the late Walter and Rosemary (Anker) Scheuerman.

Michael was, above all, a family man. He found his greatest joy in being a father, grandfather ("Pop-Pop"), brother, uncle, and a loving partner to Merilee Rote. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and he poured himself into every moment with them - whether it was building something in the garage, playing make believe, or spoiling them silly with toys.

A lifelong builder, craftsman, and artist, Michael was always working with his hands. He had a gift for carpentry and could fix or make just about anything. Later in life, that talent was often put to use during his trips to Chicago and New Jersey, where he was given a "honey-do" list that he would expertly and reluctantly tackle: refinishing furniture, hanging shelves, or installing chandeliers.

Michael was a big kid at heart - fun-loving, silly, and always up for all things fast - boats, go-karts, electric bikes, remote control cars, and drones. He loved the water, whether he was fishing with his brothers, cruising with his sisters, or crabbing with his grandkids. When it came to seafood, he was the king - his clams casino became a family favorite and his bacon-wrapped scallops were a close second.

He was happiest when surrounded by his family, working on a project in his barn, or enjoying a delicious dessert - especially Lee's chocolate cake, too many scoops of ice cream, or warm cookies and milk. He lived simply and contentedly, and liked to remind those around him to take things slow. He always said "Don't rush" because for Michael, the joy was in the journey, not the destination.

He is survived by his children Amy Nixon (Glen) and Michael Scheuerman Jr. (Karren); grandchildren Michael, Ava, Inez, Cecilia, and Joseph; siblings Thomas Scheuerman (Maureen), Nancy Scheuerman (Paul), Patty Marcanik (Ed), Carol Scheuerman, Chris Scheuerman, and Joanne Scheuerman; and his partner, Merilee Rote. He is predeceased by his parents and siblings Walter Scheuerman, William Scheuerman, and Robert Scheuerman.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held at a later date, surrounded by the people and the memories he cherished most.
