Lenward Tyree Mize, Jr, age 87, died peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2022, in his home. He was the son of the late Lenward Tyree Mize, Sr. and Louvelle Stem Mize. Lenward was born in Granville County on July 31, 1934.
Lenward was a man that believed in hard work. He was a farmer, who worked long hours and calloused hands, but he loved his family, community and church. He always had a kind word for everyone and raised three sons with his wife, Patsy. He faithfully attended Enon Baptist Church.
Lenward is survived by his three sons, Lennie Mize (Cynthia), Lane Mize (Cindy) and Lindsay Mize (Denise). He is also survived by his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He was also survived by his sister, Lucinda Mize Ayscue of Louisburg, NC. He will be dearly missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends too numerous to name.
Lenward was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Stephenson Mize; his parents, Lenward and Louvelle Mize; his brother, Lou Stem Mize and his granddaughter, Anna Mize.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 11:00 am at Enon Baptist Church, Oxford, NC and officiated by Reverend Steve Brown. A visitation prior to the service will be held 9:30 am to 11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will follow the service in the Church's cemetery.
Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made in his honor to Enon Baptist Church for the Youth Fund, Attention Mike Adcock, 1515 Lewis Jones Rd., Oxford, N.C., 27565.

Mr. Mize was a special person. He always had time to stop and chat . He was interested in how other people were doing. My sympathy to all of the family and pray he is in the loving care of God and his soul is at peace.
