GERDING, Leo "Lee" – of Chesaning, died Friday morning, April 25, 2025, at Hospice House of Shiawassee – A Haven of Rest in rural Owosso. He was 74 years of age.
Lee was born in Saginaw on December 30, 1950, a son of the late Leo L. and Frances L. (Baker) Gerding. He was a resident of Chesaning his entire life. Lee was Valedictorian of the last graduating class of Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in 1970. He retired as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Local Union. He loved his cats, deer hunting and enjoyed meeting his friends at Self-Serve Lumber.
Surviving are: sister, Margaret (Gordon) Wending of Chesaning; brother, Gary (Pat) Gerding of Chesaning; brother-in-law, Stewart Dix of Bridgeport; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Gerding, and a sister, Karen Dix.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning. Visitation will be from 10am until time of services at 1pm. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to A Haven of Rest Hospice House or the charity of one's choice. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
