Leo Don Olson, Sr, 85, of Robinson, TX, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 28 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1601 South Robinson Drive in Robinson. There will be a visitation 6:00 - 8:00 Thursday, June 27 also at the Church.
Leo was born August 5, 1938, in Clifton, TX. He married Nina Williams on April 17, 1969. He was a paint contractor for over 50 years, working with his sons at Leo Olson and Sons Paint Contractors. He also worked at Empire Seed Co. for many years up until a week before his death. He served on the Robinson City Council for over 20 years. Leo was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a member of the Waco Bowling Association and is in the Waco Bowling Hall of Fame; he was also frequent at the local golf courses. He enjoyed raising chickens and tending to his garden to give away to friends and family, along with hunting and fishing.
Leo was a loving man with a sweet disposition. He always made sure he told everyone that he loved them. He was a long-time regular at Leal’s in Woodway, IHOP and Pizza Junction, who he considered all family. He lived his life with the motto “If you want a friend, be one.”
Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Olson; father, Charles L. Olson, Sr; mother and stepfather, Sally and John Bush; brothers, Charles L. Olson, Jr., Bill Olson and Doug Olson.
He is survived by his children, Connie Holden and husband James, Leo Don Olson, Jr. and wife Virginia, Mike Olson, Sr. and wife Gina and Wendell Olson and wife Lisa; sister, Dorann Kinsey and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Christopher Hess, Haley Kolath, Kelsey Holden, Joseph Olson, Alesha Olson, Justin Bederka, Heather Palmer, Brandi Sterling, M.J. Olson, Jr., Cade Olson, Callie Olson, Madison Poteet and Mabrey Walters; along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
