SEXTON

With great sorrow and profound love, we announce the passing of our cherished dad, pepa, brother, uncle, and dear friend to many, Leo Frederick Sexton, 84 years young, left this world peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, surrounded by those he loved.

A man of unwavering faith, Leo was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in London, Ohio and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr Reidy Council 1786, where he found deep community and purpose in service. His faith guided his life, shaping him into a man of humility, integrity, and compassion.

Leo dedicated many years of hard work at Navistar, where he built not only a career, but lifelong friendships. After retirement, he embraced the joys of simpler days – but never slowed down in spirit. His true sanctuary was the great outdoors, especially at Walhonding Hills Campground, where he proudly served as the beloved "Mayor of the hill". For an incredible 49 years there, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and touring the hills on his rail buggy. It was also there where he welcomed generations of campers, told stories around countless campfires, and created a legacy of laughter and connection that will echo through those woods forever. The stories of Leo's adventures are immeasurable.

To know Leo was to know joy. He filled every room with laughter, shared wisdom whether you wanted it or not, and loved with his whole heart. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. His family – his greatest pride – will carry on his traditions, his stories, and his boundless love.

He leaves behind a legacy of unforgettable memories, decades of laughter, and a family he was forever proud of. Though our hearts ache, we are comforted knowing he is now resting in peace, watching over us with that same warm smile we will never forget.

Leo leaves behind a strong legacy of love through his children: Lisa (Tim) Hill, Shawn (Kevin) Bennett, and Rob Sexton; beloved grandchildren: T.J. (Carrie) Hill, Ryan (Julie) Hill, Tyler (Jessica) Hill, Mychal (Brooke) Hill, Abigail (Drew Clevenger) Hill, Brett Bennett, Bryce (Courtney) Bennett, Brok (Taysha) Bennett, Brandon (Hannah) Sexton, Josh Wolford, Chelsea (Brad) Farmer, Kye Sexton, and Janie Sexton; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings: Marilyn (Merle) Isaacs, Eugene (Darlene) Sexton, Dora Kovac, Ethel Sexton, John Sexton; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Gene Brandenburg, daughter-in-law Cinda Sexton Ambos; dear friend and caregiver Jim Hahn, special friends the Lowe Family/Walhonding Hills community.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edmund and Ethel (Schwartz) Sexton; adored wife Janie Sexton; son Eddie Sexton; siblings: Carolyn (Ray) Miller, James Sexton, Libby Brandenburg, Pat (Vickie)Sexton, Leah Ann (Alan) Raub; sister-in-law Geneva Sexton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 61 South Union Street, London, Ohio 43140, with Father Slawomir Siok officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, London, The Sexton family will receive friends for visitation in the Parish Center of the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
