Leo Zaccari Obituary

Leo grew up in Plainfield before settling in Manalapan. He was a Seton Hall University graduate and served in the Army during the Korean War. He had a long and successful career with Johnson & Higgins insurance brokers in New York.
Leo was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church. He was a proud member of both the Knights of Columbus Englishtown Council 5903 and the American Legion Post 0434. He shared a wonderful life with his wife, Dolores Zaccari until her passing in 2020.
He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family especially his granddaughter and great granddaughter. He was an avid fan of jazz music.
He is survived by his devoted children Gail, Paul (Veronica), James (Alison) and Leo; granddaughter Angela (Robin) and his precious great granddaughter Genevieve. He was predeceased by: his wife, Dolores; his parents Joseph and Josephine Zaccari; and his sisters Sandra Zaccari and Carmela Guido.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, September 24 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home, 344 Rte 9 N, Manalapan. Mass of Catholic burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 25 at 11:00am at St. Gabriel's Historic Church, 549 Route 520, Marlboro, NJ. Entombment will immediately follow at St Gabriel's Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleums just behind the church.
