Leocadia Lopes "Ferreira" Oliveira

East Providence - Leocadia Lopes Oliveira,87, born September 19, 1938, in Calheta de Nesquim, Pico, Azores, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Prudencio Oliveira.

Leocadia was a devoted mother to Maria H. Gouveia, Maria Alice Pacheco, Donald Oliveira, Ricardo Oliveira, and the late Jose Oliveira.

A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church, Leocadia lived her life with strong faith, kindness, and devotion to her family. Her faith guided her through life and was an important part of who she was.

In 1983, she immigrated to the United States in search of a better life for her family. Through hard work, sacrifice, and dedication, she built a life centered around love, strength, and family. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of her life.

Leocadia loved being around her family and friends and was known for her kindness and generosity. She especially enjoyed making homemade cheese, which she shared with neighbors and friends, a tradition that brought people together and reflected her caring nature.

She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Kyle Oliveira, son of Ricardo Oliveira and Johanne Oliveira; Deanna Oliveira, daughter of Donald Oliveira and Michelle Oliveira;

Makayla Oliveira, daughter of the late Jose Oliveira; and Monica Goulart, daughter of Maria Gouveia and the late Antonio Gouveia.

Leocadia will be remembered for her strong spirit, her loving heart, her deep faith, and the sacrifices she made for her family. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and all who had the blessing of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday March 14,2026 at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME,901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Saturday MORNING from 8:30-9:30am in the funeral home.
