Leon Caldwell Obituary
May 21, 1940 - January 16, 2025
Leon B. Caldwell, 84, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Gladys Lucas Caldwell; and a brother, Duane Caldwell.
Leon was raised in Fincastle, Virginia and was a 1958 Graduate of Fincastle High School, For a number of years he was a member of the Fincastle Fire Department.
For many years Leon and his family were members of Fincastle Baptist Church, he was later a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church where he served as President of the John Draper Sunday School Class. In recent years he and his wife attended Melrose Baptist Church.
Mr. Caldwell had a long and successful career in the automobile industry where he specialized in Volkswagen and Subaru's. His career began at Roanoke Valley Motors, then moved to Highland Volkswagen Subaru and retired from First Team Volkswagen.
Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Carol June Deeds Caldwell; sons, Douglas L. Caldwell (Christine), David A. Caldwell (Dawn); grandchildren, Chase A. Caldwell and Brianna Larkin Caldwell.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Foundation or to Melrose Baptist Church
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2025 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Mark Mofield. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Funeral Home. 540 366 0707

My deepest sympathy and love to June and Leon's family. So very sorry to hear of Leon's passing. He and June gave much of their time and talents in serving their Lord and Savior in many ways, he will be missed.

June, Doug and Dave, I was so sorry to hear of Leon´s passing. I know he is at rest now. We were all so lucky to have such a wonderful kind man as our friend for so many years. I will always treasure our years together on the lake, pontoon breakfasts, peach daiquiris, enjoying his wonderful photos, playing games and sharing jokes and stories. Whenever I think of Leon, I always smile.
