I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend, & Brother-in-Christ! Small as he was affectionately called was a gentleman. As a young girl growing up in the Grove on Bloodgood Street, he always made sure that we were safe crossing streets, walking from school or going to Finley's Drugstore/Butler's Grocery Store!
During those days, our neighborhood was a like a "village" which emphasized that a child´s upbringing is a communal effort involving many different people and groups, from parents to teachers to neighbors and grandparents. We all knew each other and everybody looked out for each other!
As time passed and we all moved out of the "village, running into each other was such a good feeling and having our little talk about our days in the Grove! Sleep on Brother, I will miss running into You!
