Leon Compala, 68, beloved Father, grandfather, brother, and Uncle, was called to his eternal resting place on September 21, 2025. He entered this world on July 27, 1957, in Tahlequah, OK, born to Joel Daniel Compala and Gladys Mae Brown Compala.
Leon 's wishes were to be cremated and Grace Memorial Capel of Ponca City, OK is carrying out those wishes with a service on a later date.
Leon grew up in Kay County and he graduated from Newkirk High School in 1975. Leon took great joy in spoiling his grandchildren, shooting pool, watching wrestling, working in his yard and listening to Motown Music.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his best friend, Rhonda Scott of the home sons: Daniel Compala and wife, Heather of Ragley, LA, Darek Compala and wife Amanda of Lamont, OK, Nick Compala and wife Tammy, of Kaw City, OK, and Casey Compala which preceded him in death in 1998. One daughter, Inez Stephens and husband Albert of Perkins, OK, Also surviving are his grandchildren, Tyler Compala and wife, Breanna, Kristen Stephens, Madalynn Stephens, Palladin Compala, Monet Compala, Cantrell Compala, Kaplan Compala, and Presley Compala, Great grandchildren; Harper Compala, and Cooper Compala, brothers; Tom Compala, of Ponca City, OK, Garland Compala of Fresno, CA, and Evan Compala and wife Teena of Ponca City, OK, sisters, Joette Franks and husband, George of Winfield, KS, Pat Phillips and husband, Wayne of Pryor, OK, Kerry Goldsmith and husband, Tony , and Jana Smith all of Ponca City, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Son, Casey Compala, one sister, Sue Larssen in 1995, infant brother, Kevin Dean Compala and two nephews, Torran Compala in 2021 and Steve Compala in 2025.
