Leon Fransisco, a resident of Okemos, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 9th at Sparrow Hospice House after a courageous three-year battle with colon cancer. He was 67 years old.
Leon’s passion was always with his faith and love of God. Automobiles defined much of his life. A dedicated businessman, he took immense pride in owning and operating several new and used car dealerships and was especially proud of achieving the status of a Five Star Chrysler Dealer. His enthusiasm for cars was matched only by his love for his family. Leon was most proud of the men his sons had become and their families as well as what he built with Audrey. His deep love for his family brought him great joy.
Leon is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Slavin; his sons Ryan Fransisco (Katie) of Louisiana, and Michael Fransisco (Kara) of New Hampshire; and his stepchildren Jason Slavin (Carrie) of Grand Rapids, and Halli Rennaker (Brandon) of DeWitt. His was grandfather to Eliana and Callan Fransisco. He is also survived by his half-brother Charles Graeser (Amber) of Tennessee; his stepmother Pat Nicodemus of Florida; and half-brother Larry Nicodemus (Marta) of Florida.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Dell and Rose Fransisco; his brother, Larry Fransisco; and his father, Larry Nicodemus.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Audrey’s Board of Water & Light family for their unwavering love and support and to the employees of LAF for the kindness and strength they showed Leon throughout his illness.
Leon will be remembered for his faith, strength, passion, generosity and love he shared with everyone whose life he touched.
In honor of Leon’s memory and his love for children, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation which is a cause that touched Leon deeply.
