Leon McClendon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sisco Funeral Chapel - Springdale on Feb. 2, 2024.
Leon McClendon, born April 18 1955, known around NWA as the owner of Leon's Cycles peacefully passed at his home on January 30th after a hard fought 3 year battle with cancer. He was devoted to his trade, servicing and restoring vintage motorcycles for over 40 years. He started living out his dream working on bikes every day as a certified Honda mechanic. He quickly transitioned to owning his own shop and focused on quality service and a specialized expertise that resulted in many regulars relying on his knowledge.
He chose a profession where you work with your hands and held steadfast to old time values. He still held onto his childhood interests of reading Tintin comics and building model kits. His house consistently echoed with rock vinyls from the 60s and 70s which served as a fitting backdrop to countless collectible vintage merchandise he displayed as his own museum.
His passions led him to build everlasting connections with other bike enthusiasts and will be remembered by the legacy he left behind. Leon is survived by his son Byron McClendon and daughter Jessica McClendon.
There will be a drop-in celebration of life on Sunday, February 4th, 2-4pm at Veterans' Park in Fayetteville followed by a gathering at Flyway Brewing on Zion at 4:30pm.
