Leon W. McElmurry

Leon W. McElmurry, 87, of Goshen, fondly known as "Mac" went to the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Esther's Hospice House in Elkhart.
Leon was born to Ortho and Elise (McGregor) McElmurry on October 6, 1937 in Monet, Missouri. He was the third of seven children.
Leon married Rosalee (Landis) on August 16, 1961 in Lebanon, Oregon.
She survives, along with daughters, Joann Elder of Goshen, Karen (Lee) Pfahler of Goshen and Sheila McElmurry, traveling nomad; grandchildren, Rachel (Chad) Rump, Hannah Elder, Abby (Raf) Sandavol, Miranda Pfahler and Isaac Pfahler; great-grandchildren, Thea, Silas, and Ian Rump; sister Claudia Miller of White Pigeon, Michigan, niece Shawna (Marvin) Schmucker of Middlebury; nephew and Shane (Nichole) Miller, also of Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Leah, brothers, Archie and Terry, and sisters, Wilma, Pat, and Corabelle.
Leon was a Fuller Brush salesman for 56 years. He loved meeting with all of his customers and watched many of their children grow up and have children of their own. Leon loved watching the Goshen High School RedHawks play basketball. He loved Jesus and his wife "his Queen" Rosalee of 63 years. Leon spent many years working at Bible Memory Camp. He also volunteered at Lifeline, Youth for Christ, and was involved with Bible Study Fellowship. He enjoyed playing basketball with the Goshen Park Department until he was 82.
Visitation will take place on Friday, Jan. 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Pleasant View Church, Goshen. A private burial will precede a 3:00 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, January 25, also at Pleasant View Church.
Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of memorial contributions, Leon's family encourages others to find a way to pay it forward, help another person out or spend some quality time with your family.
