Leon Allen Rivers, Sr., affectionately known as “Bro,” passed away on September 17, 2023, at the age of 71. Born on January 9, 1952, in Cuthbert, Georgia, Leon was a beloved personal in his community.
From his early years in Cuthbert, Leon attended public schools and graduated from Henderson High School in 1970. He was also a track team member. After completing high school, Leon joined the US Air Force and received an honorable discharge.
Following his time in the Air Force, Leon relocated to Miami where he found fulfillment as an Auto Mechanic. His expertise and passion for automobiles were evident as he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Leon became an indispensable local auto mechanic within the community.
In later years, Leon decided to move to Belen, New Mexico, where he embarked on new adventure. He became the proud owner of a car wash/detail shop and also employed at Walmart. It was through these endeavors that Leon continued to touch countless lives with his infectious smile and genuine warmth.
Leon had an unparalleled affectionate nature that overflowed onto anyone who crossed his path. His signature smile brightened even the darkest of days, always ready to uplift those around him. A hug from Leon was more than an embrace; it was an embrace of love and genuine care.
