Leon Gary "Lee" Robak

Leon "Lee" Gary Robak, 72, of Pearland, Texas, previously of Lancaster, New York, passed away on March 4, 2026. He was born on February 17, 1954, in Kenmore, New York, to Edward Ignatius Robak and Jane Sylvia Robak. Leon was a proud police officer and later, a law enforcement detective for over thirty years in Lancaster, New York. He was a member of both the Retired Police Association of the State of NY and the Western New York Association of Retired Law Enforcement Personnel. In life, Lee's priorities were his wife, his family, his friends (who inevitably became family), and making them all laugh.

He and his wife Susan, were together since high school and were each other's greatest supporters. His four grandchildren were the light of his life. As a detective, he had an infamous dark sense of humor. A consummate storyteller, he would regale the masses with grand tales, the details growing more embellished with each retelling. The epic multi-day Labor Day parties, complete with grilled chicken and copious quantities of beer, were legendary. May we not forget his passion for golf, for which he was awarded "most honest golfer" at the peak of his abilities. He will be remembered by the hospital workers, who, when they asked him if he needed anything else, would reply, "Bourbon!" with a twinkle in his eye and no loss on enthusiasm after the 200th time. May we all have a life so well lived, and so well-loved.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Robak and Jane Robak, and his sister Joan Maciuba.

Lee is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Susan Marie Robak; his daughter, Laurie Robak (Jeremy Smith); his son, Michael Robak (MaryAnn); his sister, Marie Beller (Larry); and his brother-in-law, Richard Maciuba. He is also survived by his four beloved grandchildren: Joshua Robak, Zachary Robak, Henry Smith, and Lily Smith.
