Leon P. Scott

Leon Providence Scott was born on October 27, 1981, to Vivian Scott and Leon Scott. He entered eternal rest on April 8, 2025, at the age of 43.
At a young age, Leon gave his life to Christ and joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. As his faith continued to grow, he became a devoted member of New Testament Church of God in Christ, where he served faithfully on the Usher Board- greeting and guiding others with grace, humility, and a warm smile. Leon was a welcoming presence, always ready with a kind word and a helping hand.
He worked for many years at Ingalls Shipbuilding as a professional painter and contributed his skills to George County Hospital and Independent Lawn Care Service. He was a man of quiet strength and unwavering kindness.
He is preceded in death by his mother; Vivian Scott, twin brother; and sister, Schmeka Scott. His maternal grandparents; Providence and Christina Hopkins, paternal grandparents; Leon Scott Sr. and Aggie Lou Crenshaw.
His memory shall forever glow in the hearts of; two daughters, Brianna Scott and NaKayla Scott of St. Martin, MS ; his father, Leon Scott and bonus mom, Emma Scott of Mobile, AL bonus sisters, Vernekie (Tyrone) Hall of Grand Bay, AL; and Deveina (Robert) Reynolds of Citronelle, AL: uncles, Ken (Janice) Hopkins of Lucedale, MS and Rex (Trixie) Hopkins of Meridian, MS; aunts, Laura Smith of Lucedale, MS, Shirley Williams and Linda Young of Fort Deposit, AL; devoted cousins Rondel Sinclair Jr., Billy Knight and Wendi Scott Riley. He also leaves behind extended family, church members, nieces, nephews and many friends who were blessed to know and love him.
Leon's legacy is one of love, service, and faith. He touched many lives through his gentle presence and his commitment to his family and church community.
