Leona T. Borowicz, 80, of Richlandtown, PA, passed away on April 5th, 2025, at Pheobe Richland Nursing Center. Born in Chelsea, MA, Leona was the daughter of the late Edward Troy and the late Regina (Swzymack) Troy. Leona is predeceased by her husband, John E. Borowicz, together they shared 38 loving years of marriage.
Leona attended East Side High School in Newark, NJ. She began working at AT&T and gradually worked her way up from an operator to a project manager and enjoyed it so much she remained there for 20+ years. Her passion for life extended well beyond her professional endeavors, in her free time, Leona enjoyed being a CASA also enjoyed working to bring awareness to Native American reservations around the country. Later in her life, she enjoyed retirement and made many friends at her home in Macungie, PA. Leona was an active member at the Calvary Baptist Church in Allentown, PA and she volunteered at local food banks. She always had a special place in her heart for her Grandchildren who she loved more than anything.
Above all else, she loved her family deeply and cherished the time spent with them but always yearned and dreamed about seeing her dear husband again.
Leona will be dearly missed by her daughter, Rita Orlans. Her son in laws David Orlans and Anthony Fancera ; her beloved grandchildren, Sean, Olivia, Joshua and Steph; along with her extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Leona is also predeceased by her daughter Patrica Lee Fancera.
