Leona "Lee" R. DeGregory, age 86, of Ocean View, DE, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 4, 2024.
Lee was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Ann (Casarino) and Rocco Renzetti. After graduating from St. Paul's Commercial School, Lee worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone and then went on to become a homemaker to raise her family. Lee was service oriented so after raising her family, Lee used her interpersonal skills working for Sears, Michael Christopher Designs and DuPont until her retirement. In her free time, Lee enjoyed traveling with Tony. Lee's family was everything to her, and nothing made her happier than spending time with them. In addition to her parents, Lee was predeceased by her loving husband, Anthony "Tony" H. DeGregory; brother, Rocco Renzetti; and sister, Elaine Kapelus.
Lee is survived by her daughters, Gina Kylen (Carl), Lisa Wynn, and Toniann DeGregory (David Horenstein); grandchildren, Lauren Jones (Adam), Kenneth Wynn (Sarah Proudfoot), and Benjamin Horenstein; sister, Ann Tasker (Richard Pellak); long time close friend Julia "Jay" Rice; brothers in law, James DeGregory and Robert DeGregory and numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends whom she all loved. She'll also be missed by her Fur Baby, Missy.
A visitation for Lee will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 2503 Centerville Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may call from 10-11am, with a mass of Christian burial following at 11am. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Lee's name to Justin's Beach House (justinjennings.org)or Wounded Warriors Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
