Obituary of Leona Howe
Leona C. Howe, 59, of Sprakers, NY, died April 9, 2024, at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown, following a brief illness.
Leona was born on October 25, 1964, in Northampton, Mass., the daughter of Thomas Michael Murray and Sally Marie Kushi Murray, who predeceased her.
She graduated from Frontier Regional Schools in Mass. and then became a CNA. Most recently, she worked at the Palatine Nursing Home, Palatine Bridge, NY.
She has lived here locally since 1999, previously living in Florida.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son Christopher W.J. Murray and her nephew Patrick Michael Green.
Survivors include her life partner of more than 25 years, Randy Rozkydal; children Gerri Bennett, Victoria L. Beaver, Kala Battisti, Amber Rozkydal, and Brittany Rozkydal; many grandchildren, her sister Jacyln Boyden; sister-in-law Donielle and her husband Robert Goebel; her twin uncles Karle and Kenneth Kushi; aunt Joanie Kushi; special niece Jaycee McSpirit, and special nephews Joshua Green and Mikey Martindale II; as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be celebrating life at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Houghtaling and Hanley Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
