Passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025 at the age of 101. Born July 10, 1924 to Lloyd and Olive (Yerrick) Hettinger in Lansing, Michigan. As the homemaker and co-business owner of Ken's Pizza of Eaton Rapids and the Old Fashion Parlor in Charlotte, Leona demonstrated her strong work ethic and perfectionist tendencies. She was strict yet fair, and her businesses thrived under her leadership. Leona loved to bake, family and neighbors all around cherished her homemade cookies. Yet, it was her apple pie that truly stole the show. She was passionate about her family, her friends, and bowling. Her quick wit and sense of humor would leave you doubling over with laughter. Leona was a force to be reckoned with, and her loss is deeply felt by all who remember her.

Leona is survived by her daughter, Karen Rapelje; son, Barry (Pam) Parker; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Parker; son, Kenneth Parker; sisters, Althea (Charles) Steed, Lila (Donald) Frost, Shirley (Elmer) Savage, Marilyn (Richard) Kennedy; brother, Lyle (Viola) Hettinger as well as her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Skinner Funeral Home, 101 W. Jolly Rd. Lansing, MI 48910. Visitation will begin Monday at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the start of the service. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice in Leona's name. Leona was a beacon of light in the lives of everyone she met. Her wit, intelligence, and humor have left a mark on the hearts of those lucky enough to have known her.
