LEONA PAUL

PAUL, Leona (Bell) Leona (Bell) Paul, 88, of Atkinson, NH and Boca Raton, FL, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Winthrop, MA on June 23, 1935, daughter of the late Alexander and Alice (Jonas) Bell. Leona was educated in the Revere School System and graduated from Revere High School with the Class of 1952. As a young woman, Leona was quite a strong swimmer often beating all of the boys at Revere Beach. At 12 years old, she met the love of her life, Baynard and from then on, the two were inseparable, married and of course, the rest of their story is well-known. Leona's life centered around her family and home, she was an excellent cook and made every Jewish holiday a memorable gastric event. She loved gardening and in her later years, became an accomplished artist. Leona was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Baynard Paul, who passed away in January of 2010; and her daughter, Susan Sirkman, in January of 2015. She is survived by seven children, Howard Paul of Hampstead, NH, Nancy Paul of Atkinson, NH, Ellen and her husband, Gary Gobbi of Atkinson, NH, David Paul and wife, Mattie of Windham, NH, Matthew Paul of Hampstead and Allison Paul and life partner, James Jamieson of Windham, NH; son-in-law, Rabbi Jeffrey Sirkman; and the daughter, the late Susan Sirkman of Larchmont, NY; cherished grandmother of 16 grandchildren, great-grandmother of seven; sister, Jacque Williams of Peabody, Natalie Bell Dishaw and Phred Dishaw of Vermont; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Service on Friday, June 7, at 10 AM, in Temple Emanu-El, 514 Main St., Haverhill, MA 01830. Interment will follow at the Children of Israel Cemetery, Haverhill. A Memorial Observation will follow at the Clubhouse at Atkinson Heights, 3 Eagle Drive, Atkinson, NH 03811. Shiva will take place at the club house on Friday, June 7, from 12 to 4 PM, Saturday, June 8, 6 to 9 PM, and Sunday, June 9, 1 to 4 PM.
