Leona M. Payeur

Leona M. Payeur, age 94, entered into rest, Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the family farmstead in Clyde, Kansas. She was born February 22, 1928 in Clyde, Kansas to Millard R. & Lottie L. (Parker) Anderson.
Leona graduated from Clyde High School in 1946. She attended Kansas State University and received her teacher's certificate.
On September 1, 1948 she married Dick Payeur in Clyde, Kansas. To this Union 3 children were born, Robert, Linda and Stan.
Leona taught county school at Boggs Country School and Joines Country School. She later worked as the secretary at Topeka High School for 16 years until her retirement when she and Dick returned to Clyde. She was a former member of the Eastern Star, Clyde.
Leona is survived by her 2 sons, Robert Payeur (Debi), Ottawa, KS; Stan Payeur (Gena), Clyde, KS; a daughter, Linda Spade, Clyde, KS; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Payeur; her parents and a brother, Keith Anderson.
It was Leona's wishes to be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Brantford Covenant Church with Pastor Michael Ostermann officiating. Cremains to be buried in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Clyde next to her husband Dick privately by the family.
