LaVale, MD- Leonard "Buddy" "Crowbar" Crosten, 91, of LaVale, MD passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Chamberlain Graceful Living with his family by his side.
Born February 10, 1934, in Parsons, WV, Mr. Crosten was the son of the late Howard "Chip" Crosten and Buryl (Dye) Crosten. He was also preceded in death by his uncle: Charlie Crosten and wife Anna, who raised Buddy; and three sisters: Geraldine Crosten, Edith Diehl, and Wanda Imes.
Buddy was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1953-1955, and retired from Kelly Springfield Tire and Rubber Company.
Crowbar leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years: Donna (Grimm) Crosten; his daughter: Malinda Sarver and husband Bruce; his son: Howard Wayne Crosten and wife Kathy; as well as 8 grandsons and 11 great-grandchildren; and his sister: Sylvia Garland.
Buddy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was also very good at horseshoes and skillpool and taught a lot of people in the Cumberland area. He was also known to tell a lot of jokes.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Sandy Cowan officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bruce, Chris, Ted, Darren, Adam, and Christian.
