Edwin "Ned" Walter Crosten, Jr., of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Peace Healthcare at Lions Center. He was sixty-five years old.
Born July 29, 1957 in Cumberland, he was one of six children of the late Edwin W. Crosten, Sr. and Catherine (Sell) Crosten.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Crosten, Nancy Milliken, and Elaine Freedman.
Ned was a proud graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1975.
His career spanned more than thirty-five years as a journeyman electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.), Local #307. His job took him all over the country, from New York City to San Francisco. During his time with the I.B.E.W., he made many lifelong friends. He went on to retire in 2018.
He belonged to the Crossroads Sportsman Club and the American Legion, Ft. Cumberland Post #13. In his spare time, Ned enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing pull tabs with friends, and traveling. He liked to visit his children and watch them participate in numerous activities, and visit his family in Florida.
Ned is survived by his wife, Carole; his son Andy Crosten and husband Mason Griffin; his daughter Leslie Aide and wife Abbey; his sister Lisa Markey and husband John; his brother Jim Crosten and wife Barb; his brother-in-law Tim Hansrote and wife Bonnie; his step-daughter Kim and Dave; his step-grandchildren David, Jr. and Sierra; several nieces and nephews; and his previous wife Mary College and husband Steve.
Family and friends will be welcomed at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Thursday, March 2 from 11:00 am -1:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Mark Dillow officiating.
Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
