Leonard B. "Lenny" Griffiths, Sr. 69, of Milanville, formerly of Waymart, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, October 30, 2025 at Wayne Memorial Hospital after an illness.
Born on March 2, 1956 in Wilkes Barre, he was the son of the late Wallace and Violet (Rush) Griffiths.
For many years, Lenny worked at Hanson where he was a heavy equipment operator. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. Lenny also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He never missed an opportunity to watch the Eagles play football; he was so proud that one of the last things he was able to do was introduce his twin great-grandsons to rooting for and watching the Eagles play. More than anything, Lenny loved his family and spending time together.
Lenny is survived by four children: Leonard B. Griffiths, Jr., Betsy L. Austin, Beverly M. Tackitt, and Shawn Griffiths; two sisters: Margie Madison and Bonnie Thompson; and a brother, Sterling Griffiths; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Griffiths, Jr.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public services. A Celebration of Life with friends and family will be held at a later date.
Arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc., Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.
