Leonard Barrington Jakeman

Leonard Barrington Jakeman, 90, of Bagley, MN, at the Renville Health Service Nursing Home on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 12:00 Noon at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the Bagley City Cemetery at a later date. Military Rites will be accorded by the Irvin Blix American Legion Post #16 of Bagley, MN.

Leonard was born on November 29th, 1935, in Petersburg, Nebraska, the son of Henry and Alice (Gill) Jakeman. The family moved to Bagley, MN, in 1939, where Leonard farmed with his dad. He Graduated from Bagley High School in 1953. Leonard joined the United States Air Force in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1963. On November 22nd, 1969, he married Carol (Honey), the love of his life, and helped raise Debbie, Gordy, Tammy, and David.

Throughout the years, Leonard wore various hats in his occupations. He served as a Police Officer in Bagley from 1968 to 1973. He drove truck for different employers, one of his favorites was driving a pig truck from the Olivia, Minnesota area to the Bagley area, buying feeder pigs. Leonard then delivered and sold in the southern part of the state for the Dick Benson Family. He even owned a restaurant for a couple of years. Leonard helped a couple of different farmers while he lived in southern Minnesota.

Leonard is survived by his children -Gordon (Cathie) Larson of Las Vegas, NV; Tammy (Michael) Radloff of Hector, MN; Sister-in-law-Marlene Wardell of Fort Myers, FL; and Mimi Rangitsch of Oakdale, MN. Nephew-David (Deb), Leuchtenmacher, Billy Wardell, Mary Ann Lynch, Bob (Carla) Rangitsch; Mike(Angie) Rangitsch, Steve Jakeman and Sue Jakeman. Grandchildren Steven (Heather) Gee of Hector MN, Russell (Michelle) Gee of Willmar MN, Pauline (Ben) Amsden of Hector, MN; Jerry (Jen) Larson of Brainerd MN. Great Grandchildren - Cory, Addison, William, Adriana, Cole, Nick, Justice, Jonah, Alison (Mason), and Haley. One Great Great Grandchild- Cayde.

Preceded in death by his Parents, Henry and Alice, brothers Dick and Jim and sister Norma. Sister-in-law- Arlene Jakeman, brother-in-law- Robert Leuchtenmacher, Buddy Rangitsch, Eddie Rangitsh Children-Deb Larson and David Larson, and Niece Alice Leuchtenmacher.
