Leonard Alvin Johnson, Jr., of Springfield, died Dec. 23, 2025. He was 80 years old.

Leonard was born March 30, 1945, in Springfield to Leonard A. Johnson, Sr., and Bertha (Gorth) Johnson. After graduation from St. Agnes High School in 1963, he joined the Marine Reserves, then returned and began a career in electronic circuit board manufacturing.

He started at the Springfield plant of Litton Systems and gained expertise in quality control that led to positions at other plants in New Jersey, Florida and California. He then became an owner of a manufacturing plant in California. After selling it, he became a broker, matching circuit board manufacturers with customers needing electronic components.

He continued to remotely operate his brokerage, Inner-Link Systems, over the internet after moving back to Springfield in the early 2000s. He remained here after retiring about 2010. He had been a resident of Glendale Gardens Nursing Home in recent years.

Leonard had a lifelong interest in cars and trucks, especially Ford products. He had owned performance vehicles and custom hotrods, and enjoyed participating in car shows and gatherings. He also enjoyed fishing on Ozarks lakes.

In addition to his parents and one sister, Katherine, Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte.

Survivors include his son, Richard (Regina) of Strafford; grandsons Reese Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Gabriel Johnson and Christopher Johnson, all of Strafford; and cousins Kenneth Johnson and Jason Johnson of Springfield and Glenda Kemple of Dallas, Texas.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with burial later in Clear Creek Cemetery.
