Leonard Lazarus

Leonard Lazarus, formerly of Sewickley, PA passed away on Friday, February 27th, 2026 at his home in Hoover, AL surrounded by family. Lenny was born to Leonard and Felicia Lazarus in Charleston, WV in June of 1945. Lenny leaves behind his loving wife, Maureen (O'Neil), sons Mark (wife Dora) and Todd, and granddaughter Isabella. He joins his son Terry (T) and parents Leonard and Felicia, in heaven. Lenny's brother Anthony (Jim) of Freedom preceded his death in 2023. Jim's family, Donna, Tony, Tommy, Tina and Joe still live in the Freedom area.

Lenny was a graduate of Quaker Valley, was a proud veteran of the Viet Nam war, a longtime employee of American Airlines and a Letter Carrier in Leetsdale. He retired in in 2006. Lenny was an original resident of Quaker Heights and had such good friends in that community. Lenny loved Quaker Valley sports, Pittsburgh Airport and all the wonderful foods Pittsburgh had to offer.

Lenny and Maureen moved to Hoover Alabama in 2006, and sons Todd and T soon followed. Shortly after, the pride of Lenny's life was born, granddaughter Isabella (Izzy) to T and Chelsea Overstreet of Hoover, AL. Lenny loved his family, but Izzy was and always will be special. In retirement Lenny worked at the Costco in Hoover and became known as the "mayor of Hoover" becoming friends with so many wonderful people making them smile and laugh with his easy manner. Lenny was a great cook and never let you leave his house hungry. Lenny was proud of his Italian heritage, loved talking to people, never had a bad word to say about anyone and would give you the shirt off of his back. He was a great father who taught us patience, respect and the value of family.

Burial arrangements will be made this summer in Sewickley. An announcement will be sent prior.
