Despite Lenny being 13 years older than me, he was probably my best friend from the time he moved into our neighborhood until the time I moved away from home.
Being that I was a skinny little kid growing up, he gave me the nickname "Thin Lizzy," which he got from the popular 70´s rock band of the same name. He eventually shortened the nickname to "Lizzy," which then morphed into "Lizard." That´s the nickname that stuck with me all the way through college. I can still hear him yelling out, "Hey Lizard!" from his house across the street.
I used to spend an enormous amount of time over at Lenny & Joni´s house! He´d always invite a bunch of friends & family over to watch the pro football games on Sunday. I remember the constant, friendly trash talk that went on! Most of us were Steelers fans and he was an Oakland Raiders fan.
We must have played a gazillion Wiffle Ball games in his back yard, along with tossing the frisbee and horseshoes.
So many times I would help him wash and wax his car in his driveway on Saturday. And then there were the late afternoon/evening cookouts on the back porch that didn´t end until well after dark.
You could always count on seeing Lenny at the High School for the basketball games and wrestling matches.
Yes, Lenny was truly a kind, caring, and generous man, one of the greatest you could ever meet. To say that he will be missed is an understatement. Sending love to those he left behind.

Lenny was an outstanding person to anyone who knew him. He could make people laugh with the simplest of comments. His chuckle of a laugh always completed the end of a conversation. We love you Nardy and will always miss you.

I did not know him personally but I would talk sports with him when I´d see him in grocery stores. I happened to be a Lakers fan. He was a very nice man. You could tell he had good work ethic in his day too.

I am so saddened to hear of Lenny´s passing. He was always so kind to me. The world lost a good man. Much love and condolences to the family.
