Mr. Leonard Mitchell was born January 8, 1950 to Rev. Douglas (Jake) and Fannie Mitchell in Lumberton, NC. He departed this life on September 8, 2025 surrounded by family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Douglas (Jake) Mitchell and Fannie Mitchell.

Leonard was a 1968 graduate of Magnolia High School. In his spare time he enjoyed working on sewing machines, riding horses, and spending time with his granddaughters. He was a former employee of T&T Liquidators, Outerbanks, Jaspers, and Sara Lee.

He is survived by his two daughters, Donna Jean Mitchell of Fayetteville, and Latiffany Locklear of Lumberton, his two sons, Devin Leonard Mitchell (Summer) of Rowland, and Joshua Douglas Mitchell of Fairmont, his five granddaughters, Joslyn Raine Mitchell, Jaya Izabella Mitchell, Zayla Love Mitchell, Zoey Lariah Mitchell, and Zaula Lakay Mitchell, four brothers, William Douglas Mitchell and Rev. Graylen Mitchell (Patti) of Lumberton, Charlie Mitchell (Eileen) of Kilmarch, Va, Lenward Mitchell (Iris) of Rowland, three sisters, Dovie Freeman (Lindell), Pam Brewer (Henry) of Lumberton and Ann Hilton (Freddie) of Manning, SC and a host of family and friends.
