Leonard Pedroso Sr

Leonard Pedroso, 86, of Bronx, New York, passed away on September 3, 2024, in
Johnson City, NY. A funeral service will be held on September 10, 2024, from 9:00
to 11:00 am at the John J. Fox Funeral Home in the Bronx, NY, followed by a burial
service at Heavenly Rest Memorial Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ, officiated by
Edward Coleman.
Lenny was born on July 29, 1938, in Tampa, Florida, to Joaquin and Felicia Pedroso.
He graduated from Bronx Vocational High School and dedicated 40 years of his
life to the NYC Transit Authority as an electrical subway car inspector.
He married Barbara on July 13, 1957, and together they enjoyed traveling to the
islands with his sister and brother-in-law. In retirement, Lenny embraced amateur
gardening and maintained his weekly routine of visiting the Quick Mart. He was
known for his simple life, always carrying a dollar and a dream.
Lenny is preceded in death by his parents, older siblings, and several brothers- and
sisters-in-law. He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Leonard Pedroso Jr.
(Theresa), daughter Zina Pedroso, and grandchildren Leonard Myles (Jane), Malik
(Shannon), Marrice, Maya, and Alina. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren
Solaria and Micheal, his brother-in-law Ronny Mollette, sister-in-law Linda Johns,
and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will include grandsons Leonard Myles Pedroso, Malik Pedroso, Marrice
Pedroso, and great-nephew Martin Powell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to his surviving spouse,
Barbara.
