Thinking of you, Laura...and offering my condolences to you and your family. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet your most gracious and loving Grandpa. His infectious smile is ingrained in my mind, and it lives through you and your girls. Hugs, and if I can help with anything….I'm here.

In my early years at ad agency McCann-Erickson/Atlanta, I remember meeting Leonard, hearing his pride in newspapers and even attending a few of his shrimp & beer media events representing his papers; the New Orleans Times Picayune, in particular, as I (decades later) recall. Leonard was always very gracious, hospitable, knowledgable and, especially now looking back more than 20 years ago, kind and trustworthy beyond reproach. My condolences to this good man's family. I bet he made thousands of friends as a goodwill ambassador for newspapers over his career and thousands more in being a gentle man and true gentleman.
