Leonard E. Salemi, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on September 7, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on February 20, 1926, Leonard touched the lives of many with his warm spirit and unwavering dedication to his family.
Known fondly as "Mr. Fix It," Leonard possessed a remarkable ability to mend anything that came his way, a skill that was matched only by his zest for life. His industrious nature was complemented by a love for dancing and bowling, activities that brought him joy and connected him with friends and family.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Salemi, his children, Chuck (Susan), Ken (Sandy), and Doug (Lisa) Salemi. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Jessica (Oliver) Lawrence, Nicole, Justin (Dino), Brandon (Taylor), Zach, and Jenna Salemi. His legacy is further enriched by his great-grandchildren, Louie and Ella. Leonard shared a special bond with many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins, all of whom will dearly miss his guidance and kindness.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Ruth Salemi, who passed away in 2005, as well as his parents, Charles and Angelina Salemi.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Leonard's life during a visitation on September 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, located at 450 W Lake St, Roselle, IL 60172. The funeral service will follow at the same location, commencing at 6:30 PM and concluding at 7:30 PM.
Leonard E. Salemi will be remembered not only for his remarkable talents and passions but also for the love and warmth he brought to all who knew him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
