Leonard Wayne Smith, age 77, of Indian Mound, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on August 28, 2025. He was born on November 20, 1947, the son of Leonard Delbert and Gracie Lee Edwards Smith.
Wayne was a man of deep faith and a member of Wyatt’s Chapel Church, where he taught the Adult Sunday School class for 50 years. He was a member of Indian Mound Lodge #303 and a 32nd-degree Mason. He worked at BF Goodrich and Vulcan Corporation before joining TVA Cumberland, where he worked for 26 years until his retirement.
In retirement, he enjoyed golfing, genealogy, and spending time with his most cherished blessings—his seven grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Gracie Smith; his brother, Larry Smith; and his sister, Mildred Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betsy Wyatt Smith; his children, Andy Smith (Angie), Emily Andrews (James), and Adam Smith (Dawn); and his beloved grandchildren, William Andrews (Molly), Nathaniel Andrews, Colin Smith, Samuel Smith, Ethan Smith, Shelby Smith, and Sidney Smith.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at Anglin Funeral Home on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Bro. Gary Dacus. Burial and a graveside Masonic service will follow at Smith Austin Wallace Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Deryk Wyatt, Davy Wyatt, Wesley Smith, John Walsh, Ben Kash, and Robbie Hendrick.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Smith-Austin-Wallace Cemetery are requested. Donations may be sent to Smith Austin Wallace Cemetery, 3196 Hwy 79, Indian Mound, TN 37079.
