Leonard B. Spitzer, of Washington, New Jersey, passed away on January 19, 2026, at St. Luke’s Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. He was 82.

Leonard was born on April 8, 1943, in East Orange, New Jersey, to the late Frederick Spitzer and Theresa Spitzer (née Reinman).

He worked for many years as a dedicated school bus driver before retiring in 2005. Earlier in his career, Leonard was a first-class tool and die maker and also worked as a project engineer for plastic products. Known for his ingenuity and practical mind, he had a lifelong talent for figuring out how things worked and how to make them work better.

Leonard enjoyed gardening, making things, taking on projects around the house, and dining out. He found satisfaction in creating, improving, and fixing, and he carried that curiosity throughout his life.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Spitzer and Daniel Spitzer, and by his daughter, Kathleen Spitzer.

In addition to his parents, Leonard is predeceased by his son, Steven Spitzer.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 12:00PM, at Cherryville Mountainview Cemetery, Flemington, New Jersey.
