Leonard Abel Stephens, age 84, of Spring Hill, TN and longtime resident of Williamson County and Maury County, passed away May 28, 2024. Leonard was born and raised in the Duplex Community to the late Leslie and Shirley Pratt Stephens. Leonard enjoyed farming and gardening and was always willing to give or help someone. In his early years, he managed and toured with the gospel group The Kelly’s, then retired after 30 years from Williamson Farmers CO-OP in Franklin. Leonard was a devoted member of Bethesda Masonic Lodge #201 and member of Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Geneva Locke Stephens; daughters, Melody (Tim) Nichols and Genia Stephens; grandchildren, Amanda Graef, Brittany Conner and Dustin Nichols; great grandchildren, Christian Thompson, Braylon McClure, Gracie Conner, Eli Graef, Josie Graef and Asher Nichols; sister in-law, Lois Stephens, brother in-law, Roy Ruth and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine Stephens; son, Mark Stephens; sisters, Carolyn Ruth and Cornelia Neal and brothers, James “Corky” Stephens and Gene Stephens.
Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Friday, May 31, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home, Bro. Ronnie Johnson and Bro. Edd Luna to officiate. Interment to follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in the Duplex Community. Visitation with the Stephens Family will be 4-8:00PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service. During a break in the visitation a Masonic Service will be conducted by Bro. Larry Giles during visitation at 6:30PM Thursday. Active pallbearers will be Len Stephens, Kenneth Stephens, David Stephens, David Barnhill, Jeff Locke and Dustin Nichols. Honorary pallbearers are the members of Bethesda Masonic Lodge. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Cemetery in care of Peggy Fisher.
