Bobby Joe Rutledge, Sr., age 82, of Milton, Tennessee, passed away on February 10, 2026. He was born on February 14, 1943, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Bobby was a proud United States Army veteran, having served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a hardworking man who spent much of his life as a mechanic, working in auto and body repair, a trade he knew well and took pride in.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Rutledge and Lorene (Gamble) Rutledge, and by his children, Misty Dawn Odom, & Steven Thomas Rutledge.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Doris Rutledge; his children, James Ray Morgan (Tina), Bobby Joe Rutledge, Jr. (Camey), and Chris Odom (Wendy); and his siblings, Jerry Rutledge, Charles William Rutledge, Carol Pugh, and Judy Pugh. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at Rocky Glade Cemetery, Eagleville, TN with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
Bobby will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his strong work ethic. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
