Leoncio (Lee) Coelho passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, at the age of 93. He was dearly loved by his family, and he will be greatly missed.
Lee was devoted to his Catholic faith and family, all values that guided him throughout his life. A native of Monterey, California he was the fifth of six children born to Pedro and Pauline Coelho, who immigrated to the United States from Terceira Island of the Azores in Portugal. Lee grew up in Monterey and graduated from Monterey High School.
After graduating high school, Lee honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. Lee returned to the Monterey Peninsula after his service and had a career in grocery management.
Lee raised five children Kimberly Wright (Lynn), Stacee Johnson (Kimber), Danna Cardinalli (Paul), Shannon Enriquez, and Lee Coelho (Ruth). He had 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Lee was preceded in death by his brothers Otto and Joe and his sisters Mary and Mercedes. Lee is survived by his sister Nira Jean Perry (Hollister) and wife, Nancy Coelho (Lemoore).
A celebration of life and gravesite service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 at Mission Memorial Park in Seaside, Ca. A light lunch reception will follow at Via Paraiso Park in Monterey immediately after the service.
