Lee (Leone) Wilson, 95, of Battle Lake, died Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Battle Lake.
Lee was born in Minot, ND, on May 5, 1928, a daughter to David and Liela (Thronson) Olson. During her growing-up years, she lived in various MN and ND towns, including Forest River, ND, Kensington, MN, and Detroit Lakes, MN.
She attended Concordia College for two years, before marrying Skeex (Marvin) Wilson on January 8, 1950. Through their shared life, other states became their home: Florida, New York, Illinois, and California. Skeex flew airplanes, so they lived near major airports. Skeex died in 1984.
Lee returned to MN in 1993 - living first in Apple Valley, and then moved to Battle Lake in 2005. Lee moved to Lakeview Assisted Apartments in 2013, followed by a move to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in 2018. Good Sam has been her home for six years where she received wonderful loving care.
Lee's most important roles in life were: daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, and friend. And - she excelled at ALL of them! Her entire journey of almost 96 years was truly all about giving and doing for others.
Before Lee and Skeex started a family, Lee worked for NW Airlines as a ticket agent and secretary. She also worked in a dry-cleaning shop. Lee volunteered in her CA church's preschool when her youngest kids were still at home, and in her "grandma years" she volunteered at the MN Zoo in Apple Valley. But all along, her walk of life was always focused on the people she loved.
As Lee is welcomed at the Lord's table, she will sit with family members already there: husband Skeex Wilson, sisters Delores and Donna Olson, daughter Margie Wilson, and sons Joey and Don Wilson.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter Dee Johnson (Barry) and her son Jim Wilson (Grace); five grandchildren: Molly Enockson (Dustin), Jake Johnson, Beth Wilson, Beki (Bert) Eikum, and Jessie Wilson, and nine great-grandchildren: Morgan, Dylan, and Haylee Enockson, Emma, Jonah, and Ty Johnson, Gwen and Simon Eikum, and Penelope Wilson.
Celebration of Life: 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2024 at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake, with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the church. Check back for a link to the livestream of the service.
