Leonidas Zervos Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 13, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leonidas Louis Zervos, who left this world on November 12, 2025, at the age of 96. A devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and proud great-grandfather, Leonidas embodied a spirit of warmth and joy that touched everyone who crossed his path. He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Helen, whose companionship was his greatest treasure, and a family that adored him deeply.
Leonidas was the proud father of Joanne, who shares her life with son-in-law Bill Maguire, and a loving son to Dennis, along with his daughter-in-law Sylvia Zervos. The legacy he created continues through his grandchildren-Elizabeth, John, and Peter-who brought light to his life, and his great-granddaughter, Sophia, who captured his heart in ways words cannot express.
In 1956, Leonidas made the courageous decision to emigrate to the United States, driven by the hope of a brighter future for his family. He faced life's challenges with unwavering gratitude and resilience, cherishing every opportunity that came his way. His journey was not always easy, yet he met each trial with a smile, teaching those around him the importance of love, laughter, and perseverance.
Leonidas was a beacon of joy, known for his infectious laughter and surprising sense of humor. He had a remarkable ability to lighten the mood and brighten the lives of others. Family was at the core of his existence, and he reveled in the simple pleasures of life-whether it was those cherished drives to Montauk or the joyful visits to Toys "R" Us, always ensuring that there was time for meals filled with laughter and love.
His heart was forever tied to his homeland of Sparti, Greece, where he found solace and connection. He often reminisced about his roots, sharing stories that kept the spirit of his heritage alive within his family.
Leonidas leaves behind a profound legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. He will be greatly missed, yet his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, inviting family and friends to gather and share the countless memories that defined a truly remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his memory, honoring the generous spirit that Leonidas shared with the world.
