Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lindsay. Visitation at 6pm with a Rosary at 7pm will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.
Leroy passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in Gainesville. He was born January 17, 1928, to Elic and Nila Case and lived a long life built on strength and perseverance.
He married Norma Jean “Jeannie” Mosser on February 25, 1954, and together they shared 58 years of marriage until her passing in May 2012. Leroy worked many years with Lone Star Gas. He retired from the gas company and went to work at Bomber Bait as the plant manager where he retired a second time. During his time with Lone Star Gas, Leroy also served with the Volunteer Fire Department and later continued to serve the community through car transport for local dealerships.
Leroy had many hobbies. He enjoyed building model airplanes, fishing, and the hunt for a good find at a flea market. He enjoyed morning coffee at Braum’s with his buddies. Sundays were reserved for church and lunch with his family — a tradition carried through the years.
Survivors include children Karen Case of Denton; Kevin & Diane Case of Gordonville; Jim & Tammy Case of Gainesville; Tina Case of Little Elm; and Tom & Brenda Case of Lindsay; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean (Mosser) Case, his parents, Dorothy & Ernest Burgess (sister and brother-in-law), Lee & Norbert Mosser (brothers-in-law) and Margie & Freddie Dulock (sister and brother-in-law) as well as, many other family members.
Pallbearers will be: Bryant Case, Mitchell Case, Marcus Case, Douglas Case, Scott Hutchison, and Dakota Jackson.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Pecan Tree Rehabilitation Center and ARCY Hospice for their wonderful loving care.
