Adolph Placek Obituary
Adolph "Joe" Placek passed away December 1, 2025, at UNMC at the age of 72.
Joe is survived by his wife, Rosanne, of Fremont; his two children, daughter, Dreia (Eric) Eddie, of Lincoln, and son, Shane (Lindsey) Placek, of Fremont; and seven grandchildren, Jaxon, Layna, Gracyn and Aubrey Eddie and Ava, Olivia and Max Placek.
Joe started his career at Valmont in August of 1971 where he worked in the small mill for 48 years, retiring in 2019. He was an avid gardener, having three (3) large gardens in the Fremont area. He enjoyed going to sales and fixing/repairing small engines. There wasn't anything he couldn't repair. He cultivated friendships through helping people with projects. Spending time with his family was important to him. He took pleasure in relaxing on the patio, drinking an IPA and smoking ribs. Joe's heritage to his children was his example as an honest, hard-working and dedicated man, father and grandfather.
Honoring Joe's wishes, no memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to The American Cancer Society in Joe's name, for cancer research (donate.cancer.org.) Memories and condolences can be shared on his memorial website at: https://www.mosermemorialchapels.com.

My condolences go out to Rose and the entire Placek family. Joe was a good man. A man I had great respect for.
He was always there to help me fix all of my garden or yard tools with kind words of encouragement of maintenance for them. I enjoyed having these kind conversations with him and will miss those going forward. My prayers go out to the Placek family.
