LeRoy Humm Obituary
April 21, 1934 - October 24, 2025
LeRoy Humm passed away on October 24, 2025 at Brookdale in La Crosse at the age of 91. He was born on April 21, 1934 in La Crosse to Francis and Bertha (Prindle) Humm. LeRoy graduated from Central High School in 1952. He proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in Vicenza, Italy from 1956-1958. After his military service, he married Ella Mae Murray on September 10, 1960, in La Crosse and together they had four children. He was employed by Interstate Dealers Supply for 38 years and retired in 1999. After retirement, Roy and his wife enjoyed wintering in Texas in their motorhome. They visited Mexico which often included happy hour and Pepe's. He also loved camping with his family and friends, along with playing cards and watching the Packers. In his early years he rode Harley and Indian motorcycles and was an AMA member.
LeRoy is survived by his four children: Roger (Elaine) Humm of Coon Valley, Diane (Todd) Mallon of Waunakee, Sharon (Jerry) Nicks of Richland Center, and Bob Humm of North Charleston, SC, his grandchildren, Josh (Meg), Tim (Kim), Chris (Emily), Jessica, Mandy, Lindsey (Brandon), and Tyler. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Aiden, Matt, Lillia, John, Ben, Edith, and Masie. In addition, he is survived by one brother, Don Humm, one sister, Jean (Marv) Nelson, and his sister-in-law Mary. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ella Mae, his parents, and his brother Jerry and his sister-in-law Karen.
The family extends a special thank you to Jen, Jolene, and their team at Veteran Affairs, Jade, Jadyn, Niki and their team from St. Croix Hospice, and Baba, Shieda, and Esther at Brookdale for their compassionate care and support.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church, La Crosse. Pastor Robert Wassermann will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
