Leroy Lipsey, Sr. was born on March 13, 1949, in Screven County, Georgia, to the late James Lipsey, Sr. and the late Winnifred Roberson Lipsey. He received his education through the Bulloch County School System and was a graduate of the William James High School class of 1970.

Mr. Lipsey retired after a distinguished career as a machine operator with Milliken and Company in Sylvania, Georgia, and dedicated over thirty-five years of service with Metalcrafts in Savannah, Georgia.

On Sunday, January 25, 2026, Leroy Lipsey entered eternal rest at his residence, cared for by his devoted wife and Ogeechee Area Hospice. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Grady Franklin (Dorothy) Lipsey.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Lipsey of Statesboro, GA; five children: Leroy (Shontel) Lipsey, Jr. of Covington, GA, Lyn Lemon of Conyers, GA, Velez (Kwame) Raymond, Dedrick Lipsey, and Lauren (Quentin) Wallace, all of Statesboro, GA; two bonus daughters, Tonya Geiger and Sonya Geiger, both of Statesboro, GA; a sister, Helen Johnson of Statesboro, GA; brothers, James (Josephine) Lipsey, Jr. of Statesboro, GA, Jerry (Eloise) Lipsey of Savannah, GA, and Lawrence Lipsey of Statesboro, GA; brothers-in-law, Billy (Betty) Hill of Brooklet, GA and Donald Hill of Statesboro, GA; sisters-in-law, Brenda Jiles and Jennifer Hill, both of Brooklet, GA; twenty grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, a longtime friend Ronnie Hill of Statesboro, GA, and many other relatives and friends.

A walk through viewing for Mr. Lipsey will be held from 4 P.M. to 7 P.m. on Friday, January30, 2026 at the funeral home.

The funeral service for Mr. Leroy Lipsey, Sr., will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Whitesville Full Gospel Worship Center with Pastor Gwendolyn Jones presiding and the Bishop Larry Jones, officiating. Burial will follow in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
