Obituary of Leroy Arthur Warner
Leroy Arthur Warner, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, November 22, 2024, peacefully in his sleep. He was born January 2, 1942, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Ray and Irene Smith Warner. On November 17, 1963, he married Linda Sue Malcomb who survives. Also surviving are one son, Leroy A. Warner, Jr and Carol Barr of Buckhannon; one daughter, Amy Hiltner and husband Donald of Buckhannon; four grandchildren, Dennis Warner and wife Brandy of Little Birch, WV, Patrick Warner and Shyann Anderson of Rock Cave, WV, Kaitlin Hiltner-Clark and husband Jonathan and Caleb Hiltner and wife Summer all of Buckhannon; seven great-grandsons, Quinton Warner and wife Aubrey Warner of Lexington, SC, Derby Tompkins and Erica Classen of Batesburg, SC, Seth Warner of Little Birch, Liam Hiltner-Clark and Leo Clark both of Buckhannon and Elijah and Jaxson Warner both of Rock Cave and one great-great grandson, Derby Boudreaux Tompkins, Jr. and two brothers, Willie Warner and wife Betty Warner of VA and Ed Warner and wife Joyce of Buckhannon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Katherine Tenney, Virginia Rhodes, and Betty Hyre; an infant brother, Ray Warner, brother, James Warner, and his brother-in-law John Hyre. After graduating high school, Mr. Warner went to Washington D.C. and went into the grocery business. Shortly after, he met Linda Sue whom he married and loved for a long 61 years. Together they had Leroy and Amy. He was active in their young lives coaching little league baseball and girls' softball. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. In honoring his wishes, Mr. Warner will be cremated. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
