Leroy Glenn Yoder, 93, passed away in the early morning hours of Sept. 26, 2025, at Greencroft Healthcare where he resided for one month.
He was born on March 16, 1932, in Garden City, Missouri, to Christy P. Yoder and Florence (Schrock) Yoder. In 1958, he married Maxine Mumaw of Dalton, Ohio, who survives.
Also surviving, are four children, Kevin (Sharon) Yoder, Elkhart, Indiana; Karla (Bill) Minter, New Paris, Indiana; Kyle (Nancy) Yoder, Elkhart, Indiana; Karen (Phil) Kym, Libertyville, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph (Sharon) Yoder, Garden City, Missouri.

Leroy grew up on a farm in rural Missouri, surrounded by extended family and faith community at Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church, where he cultivated a life of service. As a young man, he entered 1-W Service as a hospital surgical orderly in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He then attended Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana, where he met his wife Maxine. After graduating with a business degree, Leroy and Maxine served in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, through the Mennonite Board of Missions' Voluntary Service Program, including Leroy's employment in the finance office at Aibonito Hospital. After seven years of service, the couple moved with their four children to Elkhart County. Leroy continued serving the church through Mennonite Board of Missions in his role as accountant and assistant director of finance for 30 years. Leroy was a member of Olive Mennonite Church where he volunteered in many capacities including treasurer, elder and Sunday school teacher. Retiring in 1997, he enjoyed farming with sons, traveling with his wife Maxine, attending children and grandchildren's activities, and volunteering at Church Community Services in Elkhart and Menno-Hof in Shipshewana.
The family is deeply grateful for the many caregivers at Greencroft Rehab and Healthcare, Karing Hearts and Goshen Health Hospice.

To Maxine, Kevin, Karla, Kyle and Karen and family: Sincere condolences to all of you on the passing of Leroy. We are privileged to have known him, the cousin who looked most like my father Robert. His life of service to the Kingdom is exemplary for all of us. We are glad that he lived a full life and was such an integral part of the extended Yoder clan. May you treasure all your memories of him even as you grieve his passing along with the rest of us. Mike and Carolyn Yoder, Eureka IL
