Leslie Josephson Obituary

Leslie "Jack" Josephson, 93-year-old resident of Little Falls, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home on November 11, 2025.

In recognition of his military service, he will be interred at Camp Ripley Cemetery at a future date. Arrangements are being handled by the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls.

Jack was born in Superior, Wisconsin, on February 11, 1932. After graduating from high school, he joined the Marines and served in the Korean War. When he completed his tour, he took a job as a repairman for the telephone company in Wadena, Minnesota, where he met his future wife, Julie. They were married in 1953 and lived in Wadena for several years before moving to Little Falls. Jack began working for LaFond Building Supplies and eventually bought the company and operated it for many years. Through his work at LaFond, and later for Jensen Builders, he was instrumental in building or restoring many significant and historical structures in the city of Little Falls. Jack believed in civic responsibility and held several leadership roles, including chairman and president of the Morrison County United Fund campaign, president of the St. Mary's Home and School Association, and Scout Leader and Treasurer of St. Mary's Troop 88. He actively participated in the Chamber of Commerce, the Knights of Columbus, the Jaycees, and the Little Falls Heritage Preservation Commission. When the north end of Little Falls was flooded in 1972, Jack went door-to-door to help neighbors file paperwork to get disaster relief. One of the things Jack enjoyed doing in his spare time was gardening. The family will never forget how he meticulously staked out and measured each row of seeds with his trusty tape measure. He also enjoyed fishing, league bowling, and playing cribbage. In his later years, he spent time watching sports, reading, and petting the neighborhood dogs.

Jack is survived by his wife of 72 years, Julie; six children: Mike (Cyndi) Josephson, Gary (Kathy Flahave) Josephson, Sharon Kassing, Steve Josephson, Rob Josephson, and Donny (Cheryl) Josephson; seven grandchildren: Sean, Shane, Kevin, Adam, Rachel, Leah, and Mason; and seven great-grandchildren.
