Leslie Kathleen Kendrick, age 60, of Vandalia, passed away on July 23, 2023. She was born on September 19, 1962 to Coney and Hence Mitchell Jr.
She graduated from Vandalia Butler High School, Class of '81. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and grandmother who enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She's known the love of her life, Ted, for almost all of her life, and they were married for almost 40 years. She will be dearly missed by everyone that loves her.
Leslie was preceded in death by her father, Hence Mitchell Jr.; maternal grandparents, Clyde & Linda (Lively) Carter; paternal grandparents, Hence & Louella (Goodman) Mitchell; parents-in-law, Homer & Edna Kendrick; aunt, Debbie Green; uncles: Steve Mitchell and Douglas Mitchell; and her cousins: Shawn Green, Chad Mitchell, and Weston Mitchell.
Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband, Ted Kendrick; her children: Shannon & Brock Kendrick, Jeremy & Shiann Kendrick, and Brittany & Keith Kendrick-Fields; her mother, Coney Mitchell-Carter; grandchildren: Katelynn, Ethan, Eli, Lily, Kenny, Ally, Colin, Clayton, Lane, Chase, Leo and Jaxson; siblings: Paige & Todd Moore and Liesha & Ralph Richardson; sisters-in-law: Janet & Dave Rankin and Sheryl & Tom Fields; nieces & nephews: Allen Richardson, Brandon & Erica Richardson, Erica & Evan Stull, Caci & Jay Holden, Adam Moore, Craig Osman, Tiffany Osman, Brandy Rankin, Danielle & Felix Lopez and Tashina Abrams; great nieces and great nephews: Brooklynn & Briana Richardson, Dominick & Wesley Stull and Rhett Holden; aunts & uncles: Brenda & Steve Jones, Gary & Debbie Mitchell, Barbara & Archie Tucker, Resa Kesterson of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, Dennis & Robin Mitchell of Arlington, Texas, and Liz Mitchell; cousins: Steve & Amanda Jones, Macey & Austin Jones, Melissa & Searl Swisher, Ciera & Timothy Swisher, Monica & Luke Ellis, Robert Lively, Rhonda Lively-Baker, Mitchell Lively, Mark Lively, Ethan Lively and many more from Tennessee; long-time friend, Sandy Koontz; Luke Williamson, who was like a second son to her; and many extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical teams at Cleveland Clinic and at U.C. Medical for the care they provided to Leslie.
A visitation will be held from 12:30pm to 1:30pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road in Dayton, where her funeral service will begin at 1:30pm. Following her service she will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
